Modern cameras have sensors capable of producing big, beautiful images. They output files that can make large wall portraits without effort. But what happens when you want the image to be smaller, as in an album? We have released a new Queensberry colour profile to simplify your workflow. Changes to the profile itself are minor. The difference is that until now we've distributed paper-specific colour profiles (Lustre, Metallic etc). That became unwieldy with the introduction of multiple paper stocks for our inkjet and digital offset printers. The feature that everyone has been calling out for has arrived. Everyone knows that if you stick images online people will want to cut you out of the loop and copy them to their desktops. Well, they say it's better to be pirated than ignored, but we still don't like it, so how can Workspace stop this happening to you? You've designed your album. You've created your exports. You're ready to upload. One key step you need to add: check your print files! Open your exports in Photoshop. Double check your alignment and image placement. Make sure the correct images are on the layouts. View them at 100%. Double check for pixelation. Here's my second handy hint about file management. Don't muck about with your hi res files outside Photojunction after they've been imported. The key words there are outside Photojunction. If you want to keep the software smiling, they're important. It means you need to think about when and how you copy image files, and when you are going to do your artwork. From v1.46 onwards, Photojunction will automatically install Queensberry's colour profiles for both our silver halide Lab and our digital-offset press books. To use them you just need to add them to your soft-proofing set-up (in Photoshop, it's at View / Proof Setup – and if you're unclear about it, the process is described in our knowledge base): However, this new system wasn't available before Photojunction version 1.46. You may have noticed we've released Photojunction Remix 1.46 Final. Thanks to changes we made to our bug reporting systems in version 1.45, we've been able to track down and resolve quite a few elusive bugs in 1.46. A noteworthy one was an error when communicating to Photoshop - 'OLE Exception'.  We've done this by adding a 'Default Photoshop' preference, which tells Photojunction which version to talk to, and automatically filling it in (look in general preferences).
