You can offer an album through a Client Gallery so your client can choose an album, select the photographs they want included and pay online. The resulting album is added to your Workspace account for you to design, proof and order.
This approach works well when you want to make album ordering available directly from the gallery. It does not replace a more personal album consultation when that is an important part of your service or sales process.
Add albums to the Gallery Price List
- Open Settings.
- Select Price Lists.
- Open the price list used by the Client Gallery.
- Open the album products in the Product Builder.
- Add the album choices you want to offer and set their selling prices.
The online album range is intentionally more focused than the complete Queensberry product range. Use the current Product Builder as the authoritative source for available sizes, pages, printing, covers and personalisation options.
If you need help with the complete price-list setup, see How to create and set up a Gallery Price List.
Understand how cover materials are offered
When you add an album to a Gallery Price List, Workspace lets you choose from the available cover-material ranges. You cannot currently select only a few individual materials from within a range. If you enable a range, the materials included in that range are made available to your client.
Choose the album size, cover-material range and other available options that best suit the offer you want to sell. Review the current choices in the Product Builder so you understand what your client will be able to select.
Set a price that covers the complete service
Your selling price needs to allow for more than the wholesale album cost. Consider:
- the album and selected options;
- the time required to design the layouts;
- client proofing and revisions;
- colour correction or file preparation where required;
- payment fees, tax and other business costs; and
- the profit the sale needs to contribute.
The client pays the retail price through your Workspace shopping cart and connected Stripe account. You remain responsible for completing the album and paying Queensberry’s wholesale charges when you place the production order.
Connect the price list and share the gallery
Make sure the Client Gallery uses the price list containing your album offer, then share the gallery with your client. Alongside any prints, wall art or downloads you offer, the client can choose an album and work through the available product options.
What your client chooses
During the album purchase, your client chooses from the album options and cover-material ranges you enabled in the price list. They also select the photographs they would like you to use in the design.
The number of photographs they can select is guided by the album and page choice. Explain your design approach or revision allowance separately when your service includes expectations that are not shown by the product options.
Design the purchased album
After checkout, the album is added to your Workspace account so you can complete the design in the Album Designer.
- Open the purchased album from your album area.
- Review the client’s selected photographs and product choices.
- Create and refine the album layouts.
- Share the design with your client for feedback and approval.
- Make the agreed revisions and obtain final approval.
For the complete design process, see Start here: designing an album in Workspace and How to share an album design for client feedback and approval.
Place the production order
Once the client has approved the design, complete your final checks and place the album order with Queensberry. Queensberry charges you the applicable wholesale amount, and production begins after the order and payment requirements have been completed.
See How to review and finalise an album before ordering.
Show clients what they are buying
If you have photographed your own sample albums, use those images in the customer-facing product information where available. Showing your own album, cover materials and finished presentation can help clients understand the product and connect it with your photography.
Use accurate images and descriptions. Do not show an album style, presentation option or inclusion that is not part of the product being offered.
Choose online or personal album selling deliberately
Online album ordering can extend the opportunity to clients who may not otherwise enquire about an album. It can also make a clear, established album offer easier to purchase.
A personal consultation may remain more suitable when album design is central to your service, your product range requires explanation or your clients benefit from seeing samples and comparing options with you.
You can also combine the approaches: introduce albums personally, then use the Client Gallery to make the selected offer available for purchase.
