How to manage client selections using favourites

Favourites can support anything from an informal shortlist to a final album or retouching selection. Define the purpose before asking your client to begin.

Set expectations

Tell your client what the favourites are for, how many images to choose and whether the list is a shortlist or final instruction. Include a deadline only when one genuinely applies.

Prepare the gallery

  • Confirm favouriting is available in the gallery.
  • Organise images into clear collections.
  • Remove unintended duplicates and files that should not be selected.
  • Check the client can log in and save a favourite.

Ask the client to identify themselves consistently

If the gallery records an email or login, ask the client to use the same details each time. Different people or different login details can produce separate saved lists.

Review the selection in Workspace

  1. Open the Client Gallery.
  2. Open its client activity or information.
  3. Choose Client Favourite Images.
  4. Find the correct person and open the saved image set.

Depending on the available gallery tools, you can create a collection from the favourites or download a list.

Confirm before production

  • Check the required image count.
  • Ask whether apparent duplicates are intentional.
  • Confirm the selection is final.
  • Keep the original gallery and filenames available.

Do not treat a changing shortlist as production approval. Record the confirmed selection and any later changes clearly, especially when album design, retouching or product manufacture will begin from it.
