How your mailing list and Email Marketing Audience work

Your Email Marketing Audience is the group of contacts currently subscribed to your mailing list. Workspace keeps these people as CRM contacts and records their mailing-list status.

One audience, useful filters

Build one permission-based audience and choose the relevant audience filter when creating a campaign. Available filters can help you reach groups such as all subscribed contacts, recent contacts, leads or purchasers.

Review the recipient count shown in the campaign before scheduling it. The count changes as contacts subscribe, unsubscribe or stop matching the selected filter.

Ways people enter the audience

  • They complete a mailing-list sign-up form and confirm where required.
  • They actively select a mailing-list option on another eligible form.
  • You import a CSV of people whose consent you can confirm.
  • Their mailing-list status is updated appropriately on their contact record.

Audience limits

Your subscription may include an audience allowance. The Audience screen shows the number of subscribed contacts and the allowance available.

Keep the audience useful

  • Do not import purchased, borrowed or scraped lists.
  • Remove or correct invalid details.
  • Respect unsubscribes and do not re-add someone without fresh permission.
  • Send messages that match what people were told they would receive.

Open Email Marketing → Audience to view subscribers or begin a consented CSV import.
