Gallery Defaults let you choose a starting point for new galleries. Watermarking controls how a protective mark appears on displayed gallery images.
Set your Gallery Defaults
- Open Settings.
- Choose Image Gallery Defaults.
- Review the available appearance and behaviour settings.
- Save the defaults you want new galleries to inherit.
Defaults save time, but they do not remove the need to review each gallery. A school gallery, wedding gallery and public portfolio may require different access, sales or presentation choices.
Add a watermark
Prepare the watermark artwork at a sensible size before uploading it. A common mistake is uploading a large logo or artwork file without scaling it down, which can make the watermark appear much larger than intended across the photograph. Use a transparent background where appropriate and keep enough clear space around the artwork to make its placement predictable.
- Open Settings, then Watermarking.
- Upload the watermark artwork you want to use.
- Select the active watermark and its display style.
- Choose whether new collections should be watermarked by default.
- Choose whether it appears on expanded images only or on thumbnails as well, and review the product-preview option.
Apply watermarking to existing galleries
Changing your default watermark settings does not automatically update images that have already been uploaded. Open the existing gallery or collection and reapply watermarking so Workspace can recreate the displayed image proxies with the current watermark and placement settings. Allow the processing to finish before reviewing the gallery.
What watermarking affects
Watermarks protect the images displayed in the gallery. They do not appear on Queensberry prints ordered through the retail or wholesale shopping cart. When a customer purchases digital files or a digital gallery, Workspace removes the display watermark from the files they receive.
Review a real gallery
Open a new gallery from the client’s point of view and check that the watermark is legible without obscuring the work more than intended. Also check thumbnails, enlarged images and store previews where those options are enabled.
