Bulk delivery lets eligible family orders be consolidated and sent together to the school, daycare or another receiving address. It can reduce freight for families, but it depends on an accurate address, a clear cut-off date and a plan for distributing the finished orders.
Set the bulk shipment details
In the school gallery settings, complete Bulk Shipment Delivery Details.
Enter:
• The receiving contact's first and last name.
• A phone number.
• The complete delivery address.
• City, state or region, postcode and country.
The address is not displayed on the gallery, so the photographer must confirm that it is correct. Use the address where the consolidated shipment can be received safely during normal delivery hours.
Set the cut-off date
The Bulk Shipment Cut Off Date is the first day bulk shipping is no longer available. Families can use the bulk option until 11:59pm on the previous day.
For example, if the cut-off is 20 September, bulk delivery remains available through 11:59pm on 19 September.
Workspace recommends allowing 3–5 days after the cut-off for final printing and consolidation. This is not the date families should expect the school to have distributed every order.
Explain the option to families
During the bulk-delivery window, checkout can offer delivery to the school or daycare with free shipping. A family may instead choose a custom delivery address, in which case freight applies.
State clearly:
• The last date and time for free school delivery.
• Where the consolidated shipment will be sent.
• Who will distribute orders after they arrive.
• That custom-address delivery has freight.
• That late orders may not be included in the bulk shipment.
After the cut-off
Check Gallery Sales and confirm which orders are assigned to the bulk shipment. Use the existing bulk-delivery tools when an eligible order needs to be linked correctly.
Do not promise that a late order can be added after consolidation has begun. Confirm the order status and available delivery option first.
Prepare the school to receive orders
Agree who will receive the shipment, where it will be stored and how individual orders will be handed out. The photographer and school remain responsible for the local distribution process after the consolidated shipment arrives.
