Layouts determine the sequence and number of album spreads. Add or remove them deliberately so the finished album tells the story at an appropriate pace and remains within the product options you intend to order.
Add a layout
Open the layout controls and add a new layout where it belongs in the sequence. Choose whether you need a full double layout or a supported single-sided arrangement.
Apply or change a template
- Select the layout you want to change.
- Open the Templates panel.
- Choose the number of images the layout needs to hold.
- Select the appropriate layout type.
- Apply the template and review every crop.
Changing a template can reposition existing images. Check faces, important details, borders and the centre gutter immediately after applying it.
Remove a layout
Remove a layout only after checking whether it contains images you still need. Deleting a layout changes the album sequence and may affect the relationship between the surrounding spreads.
Review the complete sequence
After adding, changing or removing layouts, use the album preview to check pacing, repeated images, blank apertures and abrupt changes in style. Wait for All changes saved before leaving the designer.
For the difference between layout types, see Single, double, panoramic and standard templates.
