Product preview scenes—sometimes called room views—show an artwork or photograph in a furnished setting. They can help customers understand scale, orientation and how a finished print or frame may look on a wall.
Workspace can generate preview scenes for eligible Queensberry-fulfilled prints, frames, matted prints and canvases. You can use these scenes or turn them off. If you upload your own image for a product, Workspace stops using generated preview scenes for that product and displays your uploaded image instead.
What a display image should do
- Show the artwork clearly without distracting décor.
- Represent the product's orientation and approximate proportions accurately.
- Use a room and styling that suit the customers you want to reach.
- Remain legible on both desktop and mobile screens.
A display image is a visual guide, not a precise promise of physical size, colour or appearance. Avoid presenting a mock-up in a way that could mislead a customer.
Use Workspace Product Preview Scenes
Open Settings, then Shopping Cart Settings, and review Product Preview Scenes. When enabled, eligible products are shown in a styled setting and the preview adjusts to the size selected by the customer.
Print Shop galleries also include an additional close-up product view. Client Galleries and School Galleries use the standard preview presentation.
Generated scenes are visual guides, not exact measurements of a customer’s wall or room.
Create your own display image
You can photograph a real finished product in a suitable space, place your artwork into a licensed room mock-up in Photoshop, or use a reputable room-view application. Queensberry product images and templates may also help you show available presentation options.
When using stock photography, mock-ups, fonts or templates, check that your licence permits commercial use. Third-party tools, pricing and availability can change, so review their current terms before relying on them.
Prepare the mock-up carefully
- Choose a clean, high-resolution room image.
- Place the artwork at a believable scale and perspective.
- Keep the artwork's aspect ratio unchanged.
- Use realistic shadows or reflections sparingly.
- Export a web-ready image with enough detail for the shop without making the file unnecessarily large.
Do not use a room view as the print-ready production file. Upload and maintain the correctly prepared artwork file separately.
Add your own product image
Open the relevant product in the Gallery Price List, choose Customise Product Details and upload the finished product or room image. Once you upload your own image, Workspace stops using generated preview scenes for that product and displays your uploaded image instead.
Then view the shop as a customer to confirm the image is associated with the correct product and presents well at different screen sizes.
You do not need display images for every item before launching. A small, consistent set for key products is a useful place to start.
