Website Styles control the shared design foundation of your Workspace website. Use them to make the site feel like your business while keeping fonts, colours and common elements consistent from page to page.
Workspace no longer uses the traditional website themes previously offered. Customise your website through Settings → Website Styles and build individual pages with Page Designer.
Open Website Styles
From the main Workspace navigation, open Settings, then select Website Styles. Review the available style groups before changing them so you understand which public elements they affect.
Start with your brand foundation
- Typography: choose readable fonts and a clear distinction between headings and body text.
- Colours: use a restrained palette with sufficient contrast.
- Buttons and links: make actions recognisable and consistent.
- Spacing and shape: keep shared spacing, borders and corners aligned with your brand.
- Logo and identity: make sure the logo remains clear on the backgrounds you use.
Work in a sensible order
- Set the main text and background colours.
- Choose heading and body fonts.
- Adjust buttons, links and navigation.
- Review galleries, forms and connected elements.
- Preview representative pages before refining smaller details.
Work in small groups of changes and preview regularly so an unexpected result is easier to identify.
Keep text comfortable to read
Brand styling should never make the content difficult to use. Choose text and background colours with strong contrast, avoid very thin fonts for body copy, and use a body-text size that remains comfortable on a phone. Around 16px is a useful starting point for standard body text, although the font itself and the surrounding layout also matter.
Give paragraphs and multi-line headings enough line height so lines do not crowd or overlap. Check buttons, links, form labels, error messages and text placed over photographs as well as ordinary paragraphs. Do not rely on colour alone to communicate an action or status.
Check more than the homepage
Review a normal content page, navigation, a form, gallery connection and any booking or portal experience you use. Check hover, focus and selected states as well as the resting appearance.
Use Custom CSS only when needed
Workspace has a separate Custom CSS area for advanced work. Use Website Styles for standard customisation wherever possible. Custom CSS requires technical care and may affect more pages or screen sizes than intended.
Future themes, components and page templates
New website themes, styled component libraries and page templates will be introduced progressively. They will provide professionally designed starting points while still allowing you to customise your website through Website Styles. Until these features appear in your account, continue building pages with Page Designer and customising the shared appearance under Settings → Website Styles.
Final review
Check contrast, text size, buttons, navigation and images on both large and small screens. Your site should feel recognisably yours without making visitors work to read or use it.
