A Workspace blog lets you publish stories, recent work, useful advice and business updates as part of your website. Each post has its own page and can be organised into categories so visitors can explore related content.
Workspace no longer uses traditional website themes. Your blog inherits the shared design choices in Settings → Website Styles, while Page Designer and Custom CSS provide further control. We’ll also be introducing styled component libraries and website themes over the coming weeks and months.
Set up the blog first
- Open Settings.
- Select Blog Setup.
- Choose the Workspace blog and confirm the website page that will display your posts.
- Save the settings and check that the blog page appears in the intended website navigation.
You can manage categories under Settings → Blog Categories. Start with a small number of clear categories that reflect the subjects you actually plan to publish.
Create a blog post
- Open Website → Blog Posts.
- Select Add Blog Post.
- Add a clear post title.
- Write and format the post content.
- Select at least one category.
- Add a suitable featured image.
- Complete the description and other search information.
- Save the first draft.
Keep the post as a draft while you review its writing, images, links and presentation. Saving a draft does not require you to publish it immediately.
Choose a useful title and opening
Use a title that tells the reader what the post is about. The first paragraph should provide enough context to help someone decide whether to continue reading. Avoid generic titles such as “Latest shoot” when the location, subject or useful idea would make the post easier to understand and find.
Add and prepare images
Select images that support the story rather than uploading every photograph from a session. Check their crop and order, include meaningful alternative text where available, and avoid unnecessarily large files that slow the page.
Use only images you have permission to publish. For client work, make sure your agreement and the client’s privacy expectations allow the photographs and identifying details to appear publicly.
Complete the search information
Add a concise meta description that explains the post in natural language. Use relevant terms in the title, headings and writing where they genuinely help the reader, but do not repeat keywords unnaturally.
Link to relevant service pages, galleries or other articles when there is a useful next step. Also consider linking to the new post from an existing page where it adds context.
Review before publishing
- Read the complete post for missing or repeated text.
- Open every link.
- Check the featured image and image crops.
- Review headings and paragraph spacing.
- Check the selected category.
- Review the page on a phone as well as a larger screen.
- Confirm that names, dates and claims are correct.
Publish the post
When the draft is ready, change its status to Published and save or update the published version. Open the public post afterwards and check that the complete content appears as expected.
If you later make a substantial edit, review the full post again rather than checking only the paragraph you changed.
Maintain the blog
A smaller collection of useful, current posts is better than a large archive of unfinished or outdated material. Update important posts when information changes, remove broken links and keep category names consistent.
