Workspace provides fields for connecting supported analytics and site-verification services to your website. The external service supplies the measurement ID or verification code; Workspace places the saved value in the appropriate site markup.
Open the integration settings
Go to Settings and open the website integration settings. You may see fields for Google Analytics, search-engine verification and supported social or advertising services.
Google Analytics
- Create or open the correct web property in Google Analytics.
- Copy the Google Analytics measurement ID.
- Paste the ID into the Google Analytics Measurement ID field in Workspace.
- Save the settings and allow time for the service to begin receiving data.
Site verification
Services such as Google Search Console provide a verification value. Copy only the value requested by the Workspace field, rather than pasting an entire HTML tag unless the field specifically asks for it. Save the setting, then complete verification in the external service.
Other supported services
The integration screen may also include Facebook domain verification, a Meta/Facebook Pixel ID, Bing verification or Pinterest verification. Availability and the external provider’s setup instructions can change, so obtain the current code from that provider and use only the matching Workspace field.
Check your setup
Confirm you used the correct website property and domain. Analytics may not report immediately, and browser privacy settings or consent tools can affect testing. Verification proves control of the site; it does not by itself improve search rankings.
Cookie consent
If you use analytics or advertising integrations, the Consent Cookie lets visitors choose before optional tracking is used on your Workspace website.
Turn on the Consent Cookie
- Go to Settings, then Integrations.
- Scroll to Consent Cookie.
- Turn on Show Consent Cookie?
- If required, turn on Ask for advertising permissions.
- Select Save Integrations.
The advertising option appears as soon as the Consent Cookie is turned on.
What visitors can choose
The banner remains visible until the visitor selects one of two options:
- Essential only keeps the cookies needed for the website to work, while optional analytics and advertising tracking remain off.
- Accept all allows analytics. If Ask for advertising permissions is enabled, it also allows configured client advertising tools to measure campaigns and support more relevant advertising.
Visitors always see these two buttons. There is no separate advertising button: advertising permission is included with Accept all only when the account setting is enabled.
Analytics and advertising permissions
Analytics permission allows configured Google Analytics measurement and helps the site owner and Workspace understand how the website is used.
Advertising permission is optional. When enabled, it also allows supported advertising features for the client’s configured tags, including a configured Meta Pixel. Workspace’s own analytics remains non-personalised.
The Consent Cookie uses Google Consent Mode to communicate the visitor’s choice to supported Google tags. It controls optional tracking added through Workspace. Review scripts or services added separately to ensure they respect the same choice.
How long the choice lasts
The choice is stored in that browser for 180 days and is applied automatically on later pages and return visits. The banner appears again if the visitor clears cookies, uses another browser or device, or the stored choice expires.
What happens when advertising permissions change
Turning Ask for advertising permissions on or off changes the permissions being requested. Workspace treats the previous choice as out of date, so visitors are asked again.
Consent is website-specific
The choice applies to the Workspace account and website where it was made. It does not grant permission globally across other Workspace websites.
The consent control supports your website setup, but it does not replace the privacy, cookie and business-policy information required for your circumstances. Keep those pages current and obtain appropriate advice where necessary.
