How to add and organise images in the Album Designer

The Images panel shows the photographs available for your album. Organising them before you build layouts makes it easier to maintain a clear sequence and notice missing or duplicated images.

Choose the images available to the album

Your album uses images connected with its Workspace gallery or collection. If an expected photograph is missing, return to the source gallery and check that the correct images and collections are available to the album.

Find and sort images

  • Search using the image filename.
  • Filter by All Images, Favorites or an available collection.
  • Sort using the collection setting, capture date or filename.

A consistent filename or collection order is particularly useful when the album should follow the chronology of an event.

Add images to a layout

Drag an image from the Images panel into an aperture on the layout. Dropping it onto an occupied aperture replaces the image already there. You can also swap images already used in the design.

Watch image usage

The image browser indicates whether an image is unused, used once or used more than once. Review repeated images deliberately rather than assuming every duplicate is a mistake.

Use Auto Build as a starting point

Auto Build Album can create an initial design from the available images. Treat the result as a starting point: review the image sequence, crops, template choices, photosafe areas and visual rhythm before sharing it with your client.
